I entered the main hall.
Huge and desolate, I knew what lay before me. Memories clicked and diaries connected. Regardless of why I wanted him dead, I once knew this "Alexander". I worked with him on a project I do not yet understand. Yet the way to his Inner Sanctum, through the Refinery, is blocked. A strange growth blocks the way. So I have to search for a way to destroy it.
As such I did, through the Laboratory, Archives, and Wine Cellar. Each location held a clue to my past. Alexander had been experimenting, collecting villagers (circa the early 1800s) and using them as test subjects. For what, I don't know. Daniel was involved with this and with alchemy research. In addition, he discovered a tomb in Africa many years earlier. This tomb held a mysterious orb, which he collected (albeit in pieces when he took it). What this orb has to do with anything is a mystery.
I'm starting to understand a lot of Amnesia is going to be exactly that.
As I progressed further into the castle, it became clear that Daniel and Alexander knew something was after them. Alexander talked of a "shadow" haunting them, and needing to reinforce the castle. He also locked many of his servants in the wine cellar for an unknown reason - maybe to silence them against what they knew.
Regardless, as I continued my journey I realized I was not alone. On several occasions I spied another being stalking the hallways of Castle. I lit lone candles along my way with a lantern, Yet even after dissolving the growth leading to the refinery, I knew I was not alone. Someone or something was following me and it wouldn't stop until my heart stopped beating and the blood stopped flowing through my veins.
